Wecome MelodyTrip Bloggers! Please make sure to read this over before if you have been issued complimentary press passes to cover an event for MelodyTrip. We have some pretty basic requirements but there are a lot of things you can do that will help us build a vibrant community. And if you are willing to go the extra mile, we will reward you by enabling you to cover future events, get immediate rewards, and be entered to win all an expenses paid trip to the music festival of your choice.
Must Do's
- Sign up as MelodyTrip member at http://my.melodytrip.com/
- Find the event in the MelodyTrip calendar of events, indicate you will be attending, and let all your friends and other people interested in this event know that you will be attending!
- Check to see if a group has been created for your event. Generally the festival name will be part of the group name so you can search for it. Join the group, post engage other group members, and invite anyone you know who might be interested in joining the group.
- Invite as many people as you can to join MelodyTrip!
- Post at least one preview of the event
- Post an least one review of the event
- Take as many photos as you can!
- Post photos (you can post them on your page, on the Event page, and the Group page
- Post a detailed post-event review of the festival (will be converted into MelodyTrip article)
Should Do's
- Post a link to your MelodyTrip blog or post your full blog (please still include the link to the Blog on our site so we get credit for a link) on your personal blog, Facebook MySpace page or any other social networking community you are a member of.
- Post a message on the Festival's website chat/forums about your blog
- Attempt to post a live coverage blog while the festival is going on
- Add photos and videos to your blog. If you didn't take any video, you can probably find great video on YouTube and embed it in seconds.
- Make sure to add tags to your blog such as the event name, artists, etc.
- If you do post photos and video in your blog, cross-post it to your membership profile so people see what you are into, and also to the group for that festival so people with common interests see your work.
Going the Extra Mile
- Let us know if you are interested in conducting any interviews with festival staff//talent performing at festivals
- Let us know if you plan on taking video of the event?
- Let us know if you are interested in being interviewed before/during or after the festival for our podcast
- Invite Your Friends to Join MelodyTrip as members
- MelodyTrip Rewards (you can redeem for an online Starbucks, Amazon, Itunes email gift certificate
- $5 for Posting a Link to Your Blog on the Festival's community page
- $5 for inviting 10 or more people to join the community, attend an event, or join a group
- $5 for posting five videos from the event such as YouTube videos on your page, the event page, and the group page
- $10 for posting your original festival video such as one you took with your cell phone
- $20 if you are able to post an interview with festival personnel or artists (you will generally need to work with MelodyTrip staff to arrange for interview privileges at the event)
